COAPE-Supported Research
The Prediction of Human-Sociability in the Domestic Cat
PhD Student Lauren Finka at the University of Lincoln.
'I am now about half way through my PhD research [into Feline Emotionality] and for the last few months have been busy coding and analysing the video footage from the first lot of behavioural tests I carried out...
The framework developed for these tests has focused on core emotional processes such as fear, frustration and positive anticipation...

COAPE at CRUFTS with the KCAI
COAPE and the CAPBT were solidly represented at Crufts by Dr June Williams, Mark Wild, Kathie Gregory, Jane Arden, Dave Brice, Val Strong and Prof Peter Neville, and we were delighted to see and chat with so many CAPBT colleagues and friends calling to see us as well!
COAPE/CAPBT had a marvellous time discussing our range of education courses and the Association's work and membership activities in great depth with a steady stream of very interested folk from every sector of the 'dog world' across all four days. There's a great library of fun Crufts dogs and people photos on the COAPE Facebook page to have a trawl through if you haven't seen them already!
Our stand was attached to the massive KCAI stand and lecture theatre installation, sponsored by ProPlan, and the launch of the KCAI Scheme, for which COAPE is the Preferred Education Provider (PEP), also went fantastically well. Over 2500 people have now signed up to the Scheme, and so COAPE and the CAPBT were in exactly the right place to roll with it and gain maximum benefit and reputation!

The largest puppy farm raid that Ireland had ever seen took place in the previous week, with puppies being rescued from a large commercial breeding facility and being placed with the Dogs Trust, and local rescue societies and SPCA's.
