Reasonable adjustments and special considerations may be agreed for students with particular requirements. These will depend on the requirements of the individual and the assessment activities. For example reasonable adjustments are generally not appropriate where the student's particular difficulty affects performance in the actual activities to be assessed. For example if a student has a hearing/visual/mobility impairment and the assessment criteria clearly states that they should observe (which will include vocalisations) and handle an animal then clearly the student cannot carry out the necessary activities to complete the unit. The abilities required for this course are shown in the Course Information section.
Health and Safety
Where students are required to visit an organisation, it is essential that they make themselves familiar with all Health and Safety Policies which relate to that organisation. All students are advised to make themselves familiar with Government Health and Safety Legislation. See the Governments Health and Safety Executive: www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/regindex.htm
